Charles Treister is president of affiliated company Beacon Realty Advisors, Inc., which was established in 1997 and has completed more than $650 million of transactions involving investment sales, financing and advisory services of commercial and residential property in the South Florida area.

 

Beacon has represented national firms such as Starwood Urban Investments and The Related Company of Florida, as well as local and regional investors and developers. The firm has completed transactions in all commercial real estate classes, including office buildings, apartments, hotels, retail properties and warehouses.

                                                                                                                             

The firm’s success has been based on extensive relationships among the development, investment and financial community both in the South Florida area and nationally. Charles applies his development and architectural experience, extensive understanding of property financial and operational issues and intimate knowledge of the local market to create optimal value for Beacon’s clients. Among the company’s most notable transactions:

• The sale of a 2,000-unit rental apartment portfolio in Pembroke Pines to a national apartment investor

• Exclusively represented Starwood Urban Investments in the purchase of multiple retail, office and development opportunities in downtown Coral Gables and the Lincoln Road area of Miami Beach.

• Worked with Rubell Hotels on the refinancing of the historic Sony Music Building and Albion Hotels, Miami Beach.

 

Beacon also has extensive experience in the luxury single family area, having facilitated the sale of many of the company’s own spec homes in the Coconut Grove market for record-breaking prices.

Development consulting

Treister Design & Development assists owners and operators in all aspects of commercial real estate, including market and investment analysis, highest and best use evaluations, zoning and land-use studies, and development and financing for both new and existing residential and commercial properties.

 

The company has provided consulting services for developers in the area of architectural design, interior design, marketing and sales of new residential properties, and re-positioning of existing residential rental properties.

 

Past assignments have included: architectural and development consulting on a luxury high-rise condominium apartment project and a high-end townhome project, both in Miami Beach; evaluations of development options of existing rental apartment complexes in greater Miami; and feasibility studies and land-use evaluations of hotel projects in Coral Gables.

 

Solar Energy

Charles Treister spent nearly a decade as a developer and consultant in the field of commercial and utility scale solar energy.

 

He is the managing partner of STC Woodbridge Solar, which developed, owns and operates a one megawatt commercial solar energy plant located in Woodbridge New Jersey. This project includes 150,000 square feet of solar panels sitting on top of a warehouse rooftop, which provides more than one million kilowatt hours annually of clean solar power to the warehouse facility and to the local utility grid.

 

Charles has also provided solar development consulting on a number of utility scale solar projects in the Caribbean basin to both utilities and independent power companies.  He has worked on projects in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and has provided studies for projects in Chile, Mexico, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
